About Holly
Holly studied Garden Design at the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic Garden, graduating with distinction and first in her class. She is passionate about sustainable design and her conceptual approach balances formality with organic charm and understated elegance, often inspired by the rolling landscapes of her homeland in New Zealand.
Prior to her career in Garden Design, Holly worked in journalism and account management in both New York and London before craving a more creative and fulfilling path. Her earlier corporate career gives her an understanding of professional yet informal, client-led relationships that work hand-in-hand to execute a shared vision.
Holly is currently working on a broad range of projects in both the UK and US, varying in size from terraces and rooftop gardens to large family homes.
Design Philosophy
We get to know our clients. We aim to create gardens which are sustainable, ecological, and effortless extensions of a home. To do this we believe in working to understand our clients deeply, balancing their goals and aspirations with the considerable investment it takes to create a bespoke space.
We focus on creating atmosphere and a sense of home rather than curating perfection. While we design to a variety of styles and spaces from the ultra modern to the classic and traditional, our signature design style favours undone whimsy and relaxed elegance — spaces to live in.
We are committed to sustainable design, always aiming to enhance the ecological diversity and richness of each landscape worked on. Where possible we strive to use local — curating materials and plants that are suited to their environment, ensuring longevity.
We treat gardens as ever-evolving spaces and encourage our clients to do the same. We may work with clients over a period of years, focusing on different phases as they change and grow. We always advise that a certain budget be allocated each year for after care, the replacement of plants, replenishing bulbs etc.
We value transparency and collaboration. Our design process is carefully and clearly outlined prior to beginning a project to ensure clarity with our clients. When it comes to the build, we collaborate with a range of skilled contractors, assuring quality and reliability.
