We specialise in full design and build services, but are happy to consult on projects that may need a refresh. A garden should reflect the needs and style of its owner and work to serve the practicalities of everyday living. As such, the design requires a phased and collaborative approach to ensure it fulfils your aspirations and grows in beauty over time.
The Design Process
1. Consultation
During the first meeting, we will take some time to view the site and discuss your needs, ideas and vision. The priority is to get to know you and conduct an in-depth review on how best to optimise your space. Following the initial consult, we will send you a document which reflects the project brief, design process, and our fee structure.
2. Concept Design
Topographical and soil surveys of the site are needed to kick off the design phase. These enable us to accurately capture all utilities, any level changes and the existing layout. From here, a concept design is initiated with moodboards to support the vision. The focus of this stage is to establish and align on an overall concept before we work into the details.
3. Master Plans
Once the concept has been agreed, we move into developing a detailed masterplan. This may include developed layout drawings, material choices and suggested planting palettes. If agreed, 3D imagery may also be generated to fully give you a sense of the design. Once the masterplan has been signed off, technical drawings required for the build will be developed.
4. Planting Plans
Developing a planting plan is an exciting and transformative phase and must consider your style, site conditions and maintenance needs. The planting plan displays proposed locations, botanical names, sizes, and quantities for cost and ordering. A moodboard shows all plants for the desired look, with a maintenance schedule for clarity and alignment.
5. Tender & Build
A tender package is then put together and sent for quote. We work with a range of trusted contractors, or you are welcome to use a contractor of your choosing. We offer an optional Project Monitoring service to assist our clients in the management of their garden build. Once the build is complete, we will personally lead on planting up the project.
6. Maintenance & Aftercare
To ensure you feel confident in the maintenance of your garden, we provide comprehensive Maintenance Schedules for the general care of plants. We’re also able to recommend landscape maintenance contractors should that be preferred. Gardens are ever-evolving, so Aftercare Agreements can be arranged to visit and review the garden as it comes along.
